Back in April, Vin Diesel, whos been playing Dominic Toretto in the Fast and Furious universe universe since the beginning, posted a video of himself with John Cena, hinting that the two would be collaborating on this car and explosions-filled franchise. Now Universal Pictures has made it official that Cena will be part of Fast and Furious 9.
For now, though, Universal is keeping mum about who John Cena will play, with Deadline only hearing that his character is a badass. Thats not difficult to imagine in the slightest given John Cenas reputation and some of his previous roles, but thatll nonetheless make him a good fit for the next Fast and Furious movie.
In addition to remaining one of the WWEs top stars, John Cena has done a solid job of strengthening his film career in recent years, from comedy work like Trainwreck and Blockers to playing the badass Agent Jack Burns in the Transformers spinoff Bumblebee. Needless to say that joining Fast and Furious 9 boost his blockbuster cred further.
No plot details for Fast and Furious 9 have been revealed yet, but Dan Casey is penning the screenplay from a story by Justin Lin. That makes this the first Fast and Furious movie since Tokyo Drift not to be written by Chris Morgan.
Justin Lin directed three of the previous Fast and Furious movies, and might be sitting back in the directors chair for this latest installment. Fast and Furious 9 will always be the first movie in the franchise not to have producer Neal Moritz involved, as he was fired by Universal due to a legal dispute.
As far as the rest of the announced cast cast goes, along with Vin Diesel and John Cena, Jordana Brewster is on board to reprise Mia Toretto, who was last seen in Furious 7, which served as a sendoff for her husband, Brian OConner, played by the late Paul Walker. After initially being unsure about if shed return for Fast and Furious 9 due to being disappointed with how the series female characters were treated, Michelle Rodriguez agreed to reprise Letty Ortiz after a female writer joined the production.

Jason Momoa Has Strong Feelings About The Snyder Cut
Ever since the release of Justice League, fans have been asking to see the Snyder Cut, the original version of the movie as director Zack Snyder envisioned it. Those fans include Jason Momoa, who played Aquaman in the film and is reprising the role in his solo film this month. Momoa really wants to see that Snyder Cut, and he doesn't have a problem letting people know.

Justice League had a bit of a rough production. The DCEU went through some course correction following the reception of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, which involved several changes to Justice League, which was already in production. Due to a personal tragedy, Zack Snyder was unable to finish work on the movie, and Joss Whedon stepped in to escort it to the finish line.
Several scenes and bits of footage that were filmed for Justice League were ultimately left out of the film, such as the introduction of Kiersey Clemons as Iris West or more overt references to the supervillain Darkseid. This has led a portion of fans to cry out for Warner Bros. to release the Snyder Cut so they can see what they believe will be a better version of the movie.
It's been up to debate whether such a cut of Justice League exists, but if there is one lying around in the Warner Bros. archives, Jason Momoa wants to see it. The actor told MTV News that he's "obsessed" with the Snyder Cut. Being an actor in the movie, Momoa has inside information on what was originally supposed to happen with his character, so it makes sense that he'd want to see the version that he was presumably pitched.
This isn't the first time that Momoa has discussed the Snyder Cut. The actor recently brought up how Aquaman's story was originally going to end and how it would have lead directly into his solo movie.
It's anyone's guess as to if the Snyder Cut (if it exists) will see the light of day, but it's certainly fascinating to consider. Shazam!s Director Got A Suit Made Of The Same Material As The Heros Costume
If youre going to be a superhero, youll need a cool costume, and Shazam, a.k.a. the crimefighter previously known as Captain Marvel, has one of the coolest costumes in the DC universe. Naturally a lot of time and energy was spent making the Worlds Mightiest Mortals outfit look as impressive as possible for the Shazam! movie, and it turns out that the material used for that costume was also used to make a special Shazam suit for director David F. Sandberg. Check it out!
Normally when a superhero movie is done shooting, the costumes are put in storage, so it stood to reason that neither David F. Sandberg nor Zachary Levi would be able to take the Shazam outfit home with them. However, evidently that doesnt prevent one from having an actual suit made from the costumes same fabric from being commissioned, and Sandberg was given such threads by costume designer Leah Butler. She even went supplied Sandberg with a bow tie made from the same material as the cape. The ensemble might not be a great look when it comes to fighting bad guys, but the filmmaker definitely looks dapper in this Instagram picture.
Alas, David F. Sandberg wont be wearing this special suit to the Shazam! premiere, and I dont blame him. Although it looks good, I imagine it would be quite uncomfortable to wear for however many hours that event lasts. Still, itll probably hold a prestigious spot in Sandbergs closet, and maybe hell put it on every now and then when recalling his time working on Shazam! Personally, Id purchase a large glass display case and place the suit in there like its one of Batmans costumes.
As for the main Shazam! costume, 10 of them were made and cost about $1 million each to make. David F. Sandberg explained a lot of work went into making the costume look just right, which required testing different shades, fabrics, lightning bolt shapes, etc, hence the hefty price tag. The end result is a Shazam costume that looks a lot like what the hero has worn in the comics and other media projects, although Zachary Levi confirmed that its not pleasant wearing the costume, mainly because its inconvenient when needing to use the bathroom.
Inspired by various eras of Shazams comic book history, the Shazam! movie chronicles Billy Batsons origin story, as just like on the printed page, he meets the mysterious Wizard and is given the ability to transform into an adult superhero who has powers like super strength, electricity manipulation and hyper speed. However, Billy wont have long to get the hang of these powers, as hell have to fight Dr. Thaddeus Sivana, who has obtained his own magical abilities.
