NASA Responds To Avengers: Endgame Trailer With Tips To Save Tony Stark

Things don't look good for Tony Stark in the new Avengers: Endgame trailer. Luckily, Earth's Mightiest space explorers have a plan. The first trailer for the next Avengers movie shows us that Tony Stark is in trouble. He's drifting in space without food and water and he's about to run out of air. It seems unlikely that he'll be rescued in time. However, NASA is on the case. The official Twitter account for the American space agency recently tweeted at Marvel with some suggestions about how to get to Iron Man in time. Check it out.

NASA's advice, to be honest, is pretty simple. It amounts to "turn on the radio" and "look around," but, of course, considering that half the life on Earth just vanished, it's possible that nobody at home is thinking all that clearly. They might not have done this stuff yet. It's likely they're very much focused on other things.

Of course, it should be pointed out that, simply scanning the sky from the ground isn't necessarily going to yield a lot of results by itself. Space is sort of, well, big and we have no idea exactly where Tony Stark is drifting in space. Thanos' home planet Titan is not the moon of Saturn of the same name, and its exact location in space is unclear. Whether we even have the ability to scan that far fast enough is unknown, and since nobody alive actually knows where Tony is, unless Nebula isn't on the ship, nobody would even know where to start looking.

As one would expect, Marvel fans are having a lot of fun with the tweet from NASA. Considering that Iron Man's ultimate fate in Avengers: Endgame is unclear, but we're expecting this to be Robert Downey Jr.'s last movie in the MCU, fans seem to be truly afraid for Tony and are very happy NASA is stepping up to help out.

As it turns out, NASA may be even better qualified to help rescue a missing Avenger than we thought, as the agency already has its own THOR.

Does this confirm Thor will get his hammer back in Avengers: Endgame? The Russo Brothers are pretty sneaky.

Since the trailer implies Tony slowly dying is something happening at the beginning of the film, I'm guessing that one way or another he will, in fact, be rescued. My own thought is that this is how we might see Carol Danvers enter the picture following her debut in Captain Marvel, but certainly, we don't know for sure. Certainly, he will be rescued so that Iron Man can play whatever part he has in the Endgame we've now found ourselves in.

Why A Wrinkle In Time Cut One Of The Books Weirdest Scenes

Adapting any literary story to the screen comes with a distinct set of challenges, and those challenges are compounded by a piece of literature as dense and complicated as A Wrinkle in Time. As a result, a number of changes had to be made to Ava DuVernay's take on the tale, including the omission of the beloved Aunt Beast scene from Madeleine L'Engle's original text. Discussing Aunt Beast with CinemaBlend at the film's recent press junket, screenwriter Jennifer Lee admitted that the scene actually was in the movie for quite a while until they decided that the celestial being removed agency from the arc of Meg Murry (Storm Reid). Lee explained:

I'd say Aunt Beast was in there until a few months ago, so Aunt Beast did not go lightly. We all fought for her, including Ava, and it wasn't that we were fighting any one entity saying couldn't do it. We were fighting to try to make it work for ourselves. But the truth was what it did in the book for Meg that it could do, took away from the journey that needed to happen in the film. In the book, she's guided. It's lessons she's learning along the way. It was beautiful entities that are nurturing. Here we had a girl who's about to go in to face, the ultimate, The It, and we really need to arm her with nothing. She had to go in there as raw and as wounded and in feeling the wounds of her father. That moment of finding him and realizing he's not the answer to everything and that the pain is still there. Her brother is still in trouble and she's the only one who can fix it and not being armed with all this support before she walked in because that's not what you get in life. So in some ways when we watched it without, we realized it was the right journey for the film, but I still carry Aunt Beast with me because she was my favorite, but I get it.

So, it sounds like there was a version of the A Wrinkle in Time film adaptation that actually included the bizarre Aunt Beast scene, in which the alien being nourishes Meg and gives her the strength to rescue Charles Wallace (Deric McCabe). But the film places an even more profound emphasis on the fact that this is Meg's journey, and for the story to work, everyone involved in the movie felt that it was best to remove that source of comfort and force Meg into a situation in which she had to find the strength to win on her own.

It is worth mentioning that the Aunt Beast scene's omission doesn't inherently mean that Aunt Beast doesn't get a shout-out in the movie. During the sequence in which the ensemble travels to the home of The Happy Medium (Zach Galifianakis), the vision that Meg sees of the cosmos offers up a brief glimpse at Aunt Beast on Ixchel. She's still in the movie, but her relevance to the core narrative is significantly reduced.

Dwayne Johnson Definitely Makes That Jump In New Skyscraper Poster

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is one of the most famous action stars in the world, but what some of his characters are capable of is amazing even by fictional standards. Take Johnson's upcoming movie, Skyscraper. Earlier this year, Skyscraper's first poster and the teaser trailer showed Johnson's character, Will Sawyer, jumping from the edge of a crane to a broken window near the top of the movie's eponymous structure. Lest you think Skyscraper would instantly end there with Sawyer either splattered on the side of the building or falling to his death, the newest poster has assured us that he makes to the other side intact.

There you have it, folks! Dwayne Johnson does indeed successfully make that impressive jump in Skyscraper, the laws of physics be damned. If this were real life, any person attempting such a feat would die, and even within the fictional Skyscraper-verse, any regular person would also perish. But Johnson, no matter who he's playing on the big or small screens, is more than just a regular man. Granted, it's not like he made it to the other side on both feet, but all you need is one hand to pull yourself up. Yes, this whole scenario is outrageous, but then again, The Rock has built a film career on such ridiculousness, from moving a torpedo sliding across ice during The Fate of the Furious to fighting giant, genetically-enhanced animals in Chicago during Rampage. This Skyscraper jump is actually relatively tame when you think about it.

Set in Hong Kong, Skyscraper follows former FBI agent Will Sawyer serving as the head of security of The Pearl, the tallest and "safest" skyscraper in the world. It's so tall that some of its floors effectively function as their own society, but with such as impressive feat of construction comes a number of security risks. Much like how the Titanic was declared unsinkable, Sawyer's bosses say that The Pearl is impenetrable, which of course means that it's soon targeted by terrorists. It will be up to Sawyer to stop the bad guys, but making matters more complicated is that he's been framed for the attack. Along with Dwayne Johnson, Skyscraper's main cast includes Neve Campbell, Roland Mller, Chin Han, Pablo Schreiber, Byron Mann, Hannah Quinlivan, Noah Taylor, Jason Day and Byron Lawson.
