The Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween Trailer Brings Gummy Bears To Life

It's been nice to see live action kids movies coming out more regularly in recent years. One of those that did better than expected was 2015's Goosebumps, a film based on R.L. Stine's works that went on to make $150 million at the box office. We've been hearing about the sequel a lot lately; however, what we haven't seen was any footage from Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween. That is, until now. You can take a look at the first official trailer for the movie, below.

The first look at Goosebumps 2 reminds us of the premise of the first movie, which featured R.L. Stine's numerous books coming to life. Then we get plenty of shots of these stories coming to life. Living garden gnomes and gigantic insects wreak havoc, and at one point some of the characters in the movie encounter adorable gummy bears that came to life. Soon, however, they realize the gummy bears are actually vicious little creatures out to get them. Just look at those amazing little creatures.

One of the big news stories related to Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween had to do with whether or not Jack Black would be back for the sequel. R.L. Stine is nowhere to be found in the first look at the movie (although there are shots of the ventriloquist dummy asking whether he had been missed), and his IMDB page makes no mention of the sequel. However, he hasn't fully bowed out of live action kids projects or anything, as he does have another kids horror movie coming out later this year called The House with a Clock in its Walls. Yeah, it's a mouthful of a title, but it actually looks like a lot of fun, and will feature tie-ins for Supernatural fans.

Back to Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween, however. Originally this flick was tentatively titled Slappy's Revenge, which meant there was a focus on the ventriloquist dummy in the sequel, and this first look does seem to indicate Slappy will be a big part of the story in Goosebumps 2. The ventriloquist dummy, Slappy is first seen in a mirror reflection, but later seems to be the cause of the havoc that is being wreaked. There's also the aforementioned Slappy moment, as well as some more shots seemingly indicating that Slappy will be responsible for unleashing some of R.L. Stine's other creations into the world.

Sony's new movie is expected to hit theaters on October 12, 2018. It'll be just in time for the Halloween season, and considering the flick's Halloween theme, that release date should be pretty apt. How Charlie Hunnam Feels About Passing On Fifty Shades Of Grey Now That Its Over

While the Fifty Shades of Grey franchise took a lot of flack, it was quite successful with its audience. Now Charlie Hunnam is reflecting on what could have been. The Sons of Anarchy actor was originally cast as Christian Grey for the film trilogy based on the popular book series but he bailed out of the movies before filming began. Looking back on the situation now, Hunnam sees one clear way that his life would be different now if he'd stayed with the movies. He'd have a lot more money in the bank. According to Hunnam...

Well, I'd be a lot wealthier. I'd be a lot wealthier. I was gonna get paid a fortune. So much. You know, I intentionally don't look at my career from an outside perspective. My career and my life are not mutually exclusive. They're intrinsically linked. I'm really interested in the idea, which I think we explore in Papillon, of just accepting that life is suffering and your obligation is to learn something about yourself through this journey, and to figure out a way to use your time, if you're lucky enough to do it, in a way that seems substantial enough that it evens out the balance a little bit.

The fact that Charlie Hunnam apparently gave up a lot of money when he stepped away from Fifty Shades certainly could be the sort of thing that really gets to him now. Most of us would be frustrated by losing out on a large windfall. However, Hunnam tells Uproxx that he avoids looking at his life and his career that way. It doesn't sound like he really considers not getitng the massive paycheck to be "suffering" but he does draw a connection between the concept, in as much as he tries to use opportunities such as this as a way to learn something about himself.

Charlie Hunnam says that his goal, rather than making large sums of money, is to find roles that fulfill him creatively. He doesn't say that the Fifty Shades of Grey role would not have done that, he's honest that he doesn't know how the part of Christian Grey would have impacted his career, though he admits that others seem to think not taking the part was the right move.

If I'm involved in a project that I feel excited about and it gives me a sense of purpose and it gives me a sense of creative fulfillment, that is deep fulfillment to me, and it evens out the balance for me in my own journey. My success, for me, is about getting to continue to work on things that make me excited. And I don't know if that would have created more or less opportunity. I just don't know. I seem to have gotten a lot of kudos in a way for not doing it, but again that's sort of an outside perspective. I don't necessarily feel that way.

Charlie Hunnam appears to have taken a very Zen approach to the whole thing, not letting the questions of what could have been get in the way of what is happening. As far as what is happening, Hunnam will star in the remake of Papillon hitting theaters this weekend.

Watch Lady Gaga And Bradley Cooper Sing Shallow At The Oscars

It's been a long and exciting Awards season, with tonight's Academy Awards ceremony capping it all off with the most sought after prize. Earlier ceremonies spread the awards across various films, beginning with the always unexpected Golden Globe ceremony. This year's nominees are exciting and diverse, including Marvel's Black Panther, foreign film frontrunner Roma, and Bradley Cooper's musical directorial debut A Star Is Born. The latter racked up an impressive eight Oscar noms, with the most heavily favored category being Best Original Song, for the radio favorite track "Shallow".

Given Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga's chemistry in A Star Is Born was palpable both during the film and the film's press tour. As such, moviegoers were eager to see the two actors reunite on the stage to sing "Shallow", and it didn't disappoint. The Maine family was reunited, and you better bring your tissues.

I'm not crying, you're crying. Simple and powerful, A Star Is Born showed up big for its Oscars performance, and ultimately it was the final icing on the cake before the track took the Best Original Song award. To put it simply: Yas, Gaga.

The performance of "Shallow" is stripped down, which might not have been what fans were expecting from the Awards bait blockbuster. Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper has teased their plans for the performance, and their cryptic comments could have heralded in just about anything from the dynamic duo. But instead of going for high production value, Cooper and Gaga simply ascended the Oscars stage from the first row, took their places, and sang to each other.

Bradley Cooper started off the song, just as Jackson Maine did during his concert in A Star Is Born. While the actor/director seemed a bit nervous, he ultimately found a way to channel Jackson's signature voice and grovel, and temporarily occupied the skin of the ill-fated musician. Lady Gaga's transition was more seamless, as she began the performance as a viewer, before Cooper handed the baton and she belted out Ally's signature verse and bridge in what was the film's first star-making moment.

While all of Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga's performance of "Shallow" was effective and nostalgic, the final chorus pulled at the heartstrings of moviegoers. Cooper joined Gaga on the piano bench, and they shared a microphone and the final moments of the already iconic song. Their faces nearly touched, and for a second Ally and Jackson occupied the ABC and countless screen across the world.

The timing couldn't have been better, as A Star Is Born was the last movie to perform their Best Original Song nominated track. But there was a noticeable absence from the program, as Black Panther's signature song "All The Stars" wasn't part of the Oscars. Kendrick Lamar and Sza didn't get a chance to sing their Oscar nominated song, and ultimately the coveted golden statue went to A Star Is Born.
