Robert Pattinson's Next Movie Is Heading To Netflix

Robert Pattinson made his name in movies geared toward the teen and tween set, but these days his rsum is a whole lot more eclectic. Last year's Good Time made headlines for the dog masturbation that wasn't really dog masturbation, and the actor has a weird new western coming out called Damsel that features him with a shiny silver tooth. Next up after Damsel, the former Twilight franchise actor will be heading to Netflix for new movie The King, joining a wave of actors, filmmakers and other celebrities who are trying out the streaming service. A slew of other actors have also been cast.

The film is actually going into production this weekend and will be directed by David Michod, who also did War Machine with Brad Pitt for Netflix. The King will focus on a portion of the Hundred Years War, and will specifically focus on the Battle of Agincourt. Robert Pattinson is signed on to play The Dauphin of France in the new film.

The King already has a stacked cast, as well. Joining Robert Pattinson will be Call Me By Your Name's Timothee Chalamet and Red Sparrow's Joel Edgerton. Netflix alum Ben Mendelsohn, who starred in Bloodline, will be back for The King, as well. Finally, Johnny Depp's daughter Lily-Rose Depp, Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie, Tom Glynn-Carney and Sean Harris are also going to be in the new film. Mendelsohn is going to be the man playing King Henry IV, according to Netflix, while some of the other actors will be playing historical characters, too. Joel Edgerton will be pulling triple duty, producing and writing, as well as playing Falstaff. Depp will be playing Princess Catherine and Chalamet will be playing Hal.

David Michod is also writing with Joel Edgerton and producing alongside the actor and Liz Watts. The film is expected to hit the streaming service in 2019.

The whole movie is supposed to be based on both parts of Henry The IV and Henry V, all popular works by Shakespeare; we'll have to wait and see if the Netflix audience has a love for The Bard. Although period dramas like The Crown have done well for Netflix so far, so that's a bonus. Netflix has had some wins in the movie realm, as well; however, its movie lineup hasn't achieved the prominence that its TV originals have had. With the deal between Netflix and Disney ending after this year, there will be a hole where there was once a slew of big budget and animated movies for the company, and it will be interesting to see how the streaming service fills the gaps.

Bloodshot Cast, An Updated List

Bloodshot isn't part of the DC or Marvel universes, but he's still a popular comic book character in his own right. As such, he'll be getting his own big screen film adaptation that is looking to go toe-to-toe with the major comic book names that everybody knows. The film has been building up its cast in recent weeks in anticipation of filming getting underway soon.

Taking a look at the current cast list for Bloodshot, the film has brought on board a diverse set of actors and based on this list, it looks like Bloodshot may have the potential to be as good as any comic book movie thus far. Here's who's on board Bloodshot as of now.

Most important to Bloodshot is the title role, which is being handled by Vin Diesel. This will technically be Diesel's second big comic book role, though the first that actually allows him to be on screen. He has voiced Groot in the Guardians of the Galaxy films. He's also no stranger to action movies, or potential franchises, as he's been part of the Fast and Furious series as well as XxX and Riddick. Odds are everybody involved is looking for Bloodshot to become Diesel's latest multi-picture franchise.

A comic book hero is only as good as their villain. For that role, Toby Kebbell is the pick. He'll play the role of the Harbinger called Axe. Kebbell splits his time between traditional acting roles and motion-capture performances. He did double duty in Kong: Skull Island, performing the mo-cap work for Kong while also playing an on-screen character. He's also been seen in the Warcraft movie and the most recent attempt at the Fantastic Four where he played Doom.

Lamorne Morris is probably best known for his run on the Fox sitcom The New Girl. He also had a role in the recent hit Game Night and Adam Sandler's most recent Netflix movie Sandy Wexler. Morris' role in Bloodshot will be as a character named Wilfred Wigans who, according to Deadline, will be a young scientist who becomes an "unlikely ally" of Bloodshot. This appears to be an original character for the movie, so it's anybody's guess.

Eiza Gonzalez probably got her best public exposure as part of the From Dusk Till Dawn TV series. Since then, however, she's begun to build a pretty solid resume on the big screen. She played the role of Darling in Edgar Wright's Baby Driver, and will next be seen in both the adaptation of Alita: Battle Angel and Robert Zemeckis' Welcome to Marwen both hitting screens in December.

While Sam Heughan resume for film and television goes back to 2001, he is clearly best known for his role as Jamie Fraser on the Starz series Outlander. His newest project puts him opposite Kate McKinnon and Mila Kunis in the comedy The Spy Who Dumped Me. At this point, Bloodshot looks to be his next project.

Michael Sheen has a massive number of memorable roles in everything from Tron: Legacy to the Underworld franchise to Frost/Nixon. While Sheen could play almost any role in Bloodshot, he does seem to have a tendency to play villains in sci-fi/fantasy films, making one wonder if that's what this movie has in store for him as well.

Talulah Riley has been acting since 2003 but is best known for her current role on HBO's Westworld as Angela. Riley is reportedly on board Bloodshot to play the title character's wife, which, considering Bloodshot traditionally is a character with no memory, may not be a very big role, but it could also be one of key importance to the plot.

Alex Hernandez probably isn't a household name unless you're an avid viewer of the Lifetime series UnREAL, but that makes his role in Bloodshot a pretty big deal for his career. Still, Hernandez has had numerous roles in film and television including many voice roles in animation and video games. Hernandez is reported to be playing a member of the scientific team responsible for turning Bloodshot into the superhuman killer he is.

The Kid Who Would Be King Trailer Is Fun And Mythical

The tales of King Arthur have been the stuff of legends for centuries, particularly when he drew the sword Excalibur from the stone and became ruler of the realm. But what would happen if a seemingly average, 12-year-old boy were to draw Excalibur in the present day? What sort of craziness would unfold then? That's what The Kid Who Would Be King will answer, and you can check out the first trailer for this family-friendly, fantasy adventure film below.

It's been seven years since director Joe Cornish's last movie, Attack the Block, came out, but now he's back with The Kid Who Would Be King. Rather than simply tell another traditional King Arthur story (which didn't go over well last year with King Arthur: Legend of the Sword), Cornish is moving the action to contemporary times and placing Excalibur in the hands of Alex, played by Louis Serkis, who discovers the sword at a construction site while fleeing from bullies.

Regardless of where or when you pull Excalibur from a stone, one thing is certain: your life will be anything but normal afterwards. Sure enough, Alex is soon found by Merlin, who's disguised himself to look like a teenager, played by Angus Imrie, and informs Alex that he needs to stop the evil Morgana, played by Rebecca Ferguson, from returning to the land of the living to destroy the world.

Wielding a cool sword and having a wizard on your side is a nice start, but to defeat Morgana, Alex is going to need recruit his classmates, including his best friend and those bullies who tormented him, to fight back against the sorceress' forces. And while joining an army doesn't initially sound appealing to the other students, once the principal (who has somehow been been persuaded to help) notes that this will replace lessons, they're understandably on board.

Judging from the fiery, zombie-like creatures that make their way to Earth, Alex, Merlin and everyone else will have their work cut out for them, but for moviegoers both young and old, that means plenty of excitement. And for those of you wondering if Merlin's going to look like an adolescent throughout all of The Kid Who Would Be King, not to worry, we'll also see his true form, played by Sir Patrick Stewart. How fun, a true knight playing literature's most famous wizard. Oh, and apparently the Lady of the Lake can just show up in any ol' bathtub, too.
