Could Daredevil Appear In The Black Widow Movie? Here's What Kevin Feige Says

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is a very fascinating place right now. The events of Avengers: Infinity War have changed the MCU as we know it, and it's unclear how the shared universe's heroes will recover from their devastating loss at the hands of Thanos. The state of the behemoth franchise after Avengers 4 is a complete mystery, except for a few films that have been confirmed. One of the developing projects that seems to be picking up speed is the upcoming Black Widow movie, with fans wondering which MCU heroes she might bring along for her first standalone adventure. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige was recently asked about the possibility of Charlie Cox's Daredevil finally making his silver screen debut alongside Black Widow, to which Feige responded with:

There are a lot of potential characters that are among that list. That's one I haven't heard.

While there are a ton of heroes who might pop up in Black Widow's long overdue solo film, it's not going to be The Devil of Hell's Kitchen. Bummer for all the hardcore Marvel fans that watch every single movie and TV series, and are waiting with bated breath for their crossover.

Kevin Feige's comments to ComicBook make a great deal of sense, given what we've learned about how Marvel's movies and TV shows operate. While references and crossovers are always on the mind of the fandom, they're easier said than done. After all, each TV show and movie has different producers and schedules. Additionally, the silver screen Marvel projects are kept under wraps, so the inclusion of Daredevil or any other Defender seems like a logistical nightmare.

Although Daredevil won't be joining Natasha Ramanoff for her solo flick, it's exciting that Marvel Studios seems to be weighing the studio's options in regards to who might appear with Black Widow. With the events of Infinity War and Avengers 4 finally uniting Marvel's heroes, it seems like just about any Avengers or Guardian might be a plausible choice.

Perhaps the most obvious would be Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye, who has been criminally underused for the majority of his MCU tenure. His long awaited return will occur in Avengers 4, and Black Widow's movie might be the perfect project to finally flesh out the two non-powered Avengers. It would also be going back to basics, focusing on Natasha and Clint's friendship, which was a driving force through the original Avengers movie. Scarlett Johansson's hero has been mostly focused on her connection with Captain America and Bruce Banner, so it would be refreshing to see her return to her roots.

It's currently unclear if/when the Black Widow movie will arrive in theaters, but CinemaBlend will be sure to update you every step of the way. The DC live-action universe has had a fascinating life in theaters. Zack Snyder helped to kickstart the franchise with Man of Steel and Batman v Superman, although Warner Bros. has pivoted away from that muted and darker vision. Instead of crossover movies, DC has pivoted to director-driven stories like Shazam! and Aquaman. One long gestating project is Matt Reeves' The Batman, which has just landed a lead in Twilight alum Robert Pattinson.

The Batman has gone through quite a few iterations during its long development process, but it seems Matt Reeves is making some major steps forward. DC fans are eager to see what actors will be joining Robert Pattinson, and make up Batman's iconic rogues gallery. Quite a few actors have thrown their name into the ring to play a villain, including actress Vanessa Hudgens. Hudgens has been open about Catwoman being a dream role, and now we can see what she might look like as Selina Kyle opposite Pattinson's Bruce Wayne. Check it out below.

Not gonna lie, this fan image is good stuff. You can really see how the two actors would look opposite each other within the DC Universe. And rather than being focused on the masked alter egos of Batman and Catwoman, the art portrays their real identities and the romantic tension shared between Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle.

This image comes to us from artist William Gray, and might help win over naysayers who have their doubts about either Robert Pattinson or Vanessa Hudgens' ability to play iconic denizens of Gotham City. They look great as Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle, although it's important to note that we don't know if Catwoman is actually a character in the upcoming blockbuster. But since the iconic thief/ Batman love interest isn't set to debut in Cathy Yan's Birds of Prey, it would make sense if she appeared in The Batman.

News of Robert Pattinson's role as Batman was met with mixed reaction from moviegoers. Those who have kept familiar with his work over the years seemed thrilled, as Pattinson has proven himself as a strong actor in movies like Good Time, Cosmopolis, and High Life. Still, there are some haters out there who only associate the 33 year-old actor with his role in the Twilight franchise.

Regardless, Robert Pattinson screen tested for Batman, and eventually won the role from X-Men actor Nicholas Hoult. That's more than Vanessa Hudgens can say, as the High School Musical alum has only recently begun her campaign to play Catwoman in the DCEU. It all began when fans began sharing art work of her as the character, and she revealed it was a dream role.

Whether or not Vanessa Hudgens will be considered to play Catwoman is another story. Funny enough, she might have had a better chance at playing Selina Kyle when Zack Snyder was still the architect of the DCEU. Hudgens worked with Snyder on his ill-fated blockbuster Sucker Punch, where she proved herself as a capable action star. But Matt Reeves will be the one deciding the cast for The Batman, and he's been keeping his cards close to the chest.

Vanessa Hudgens isn't the only actor campaigning for a role in The Batman, and she certainly wasn't the first. Most notable is Frozen's Josh Gad, who has been not to subtly hinting at his interest in playing The Penguin in the DCEU. We'll just have to see if his plans come to fruition, or if another actor lands the role of Oswald Cobblepot.

While the Skrulls play a vital role in Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck's Captain Marvel, their role in the marketing has not been significant so far. Sure, they've shown up a few times, but there's been only one line of dialogue, and it wasn't until last night that it was even mentioned they shapeshift. We have a clear idea of what's going on with the titular hero, but not much about the villains she is facing down. Fortunately, Ben Mendelsohn delivered everything you need to know about the alien villains from the upcoming blockbuster in a single, perfect quote last year, and we can share it with you now:

I'm Talos. I'm the battle commander of the Skrulls. I take it most of you know who Skrulls are? We kind of rule the shit. Most of the rest of the Marvel comic universe are punks basically. And I guess to quote Snoop Dogg, 'We are the shiznit.' We stand above. I mean, look, we can be anyone, and we're stronger than the rest of them. Basically that's it. Yeah, we're maligned, we're misunderstood. But, you know, we're Skrulls. We're Skrullin. Any other questions?

This epic bit of philosophizing about the Skrulls role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was delivered on set last year as Ben Mendelsohn sat down to talk about the movie with a group of reporters invited to visit the production -- a group of which I was part. The actor was in full makeup for the interview, and while sort of weaving in and out of character he had a blast answering questions, starting with the above perfect response to the basic question "What is your role in the movie?"

If Ben Mendelsohn's quote isn't quite sufficient for you in explaining who the Skrulls are, their story begins in the pages of Marvel Comics from the early 1960s -- where they were introduced as a recurring extraterrestrial foe for the Fantastic Four. Their role in the universe eventually expanded, and they eventually became a problem for many of all of the heroes given their very special skill: they have the ability to transform into anything.

They are introduced in Captain Marvel because while they have a lot of enemies around the universe, their greatest foes are the Kree -- a species of which the lead character is a part at the start of the film. They have been fighting a war for centuries known as the Kree-Skrull War, and it's in the midst of the conflict that Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) will begin to remember some very important parts of her past.

Sadly the actors and filmmakers were very tight-lipped when it came to discussing the relationship between Talos and Captain Marvel, and the plans that the Skrulls have on Earth in the movie. However, producer Jonathan Schwartz did heap praise on the work Ben Mendelsohn does in the film and the fun that comes as a result of his character's ability to transform. Said the filmmaker,Ben kind of plays the face of the Skrulls, the leader of the Skrulls, and that's Talos. Over the course of the movie he'll shapeshift a little bit, so we'll get to see him in human form... I think it's sort of fun to show off both the Skrulls powers and Ben's range as an actor because he's very different in all of those parts. It's been super fun to watch.

Starring Brie Larson, Ben Mendelsohn, Samuel L. Jackson, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Annette Bening, Clark Gregg, and Jude Law, Captain Marvel is getting closer and closer to its highly anticipated release. The blockbuster is scheduled to arrive in theaters on March 8th, and between now and then we'll have a ton more coverage coming your way from our time on set.

Bohemian Rhapsody has found incredible success as the highest-earning music biopic worldwide, and as a four-time Oscar winner. The movie centering around Queens history as a band swept most of the technical categories at the Academy Awards, including Best Sound Editing, Sound Mixing, and Film Editing. The latter has been most heavily criticized online for its win, especially for the cut of the bands first meeting with manager John Reid, which became a viral example of Oscar "injustice" on Twitter.

John Ottman, who was Bohemian Rhapsodys editor, received a ton of honors during awards season. He was recently told of a viral video specifically criticizing the editing of that band meeting scene. Here was his reaction:

Oh my God! Wow. I didnt know about that, but I know why thats out there. Whenever I see [the scene], I want to put a bag over my head. Because thats not my aesthetic. If theres ever an extended version of the film where I can put a couple scenes back, I will recut that scene!

The Bohemian Rhapsody editor told The Washington Post that the restaurant scene was one of the few scenes shot by Dexter Fletcher shortly after previous director Bryan Singer was fired from the film. Some of the storyline was reordered, leading to a reshoot of the meeting between the band and their manager outside a London pub. Feeling that whiplash? The flashy cut switches in this scene in particular caused an outcry over the internet, all questioning how the movie won an Oscar for Best Editing. John Ottman said he was under pressure to get the first act of Bohemian Rhapsody moving quickly, so some scenes ended up looking this way.

Later, when the movie was screened for test audiences, their feedback indicated they enjoyed learning about the band in their early years. So Ottman went back over those scenes and slowed them down. However, due to time constraints, he didn't get to do the same for the now much-mocked meeting scene. The editor certainly seems to regret it now looking back, per his recent words.

A recent video by Thomas Flight breaks down just why the Bohemian Rhapsody restaurant scene in question, and many of the other dialogue scenes, have terrible editing. Take a look:

You know theres something wrong when a simple dialogue scene has 60 cuts in under two minutes more than an action sequence in Transformers: The Last Knight. The video breaks down some major problems with the editing in Bohemian Rhapsody, along with why it may have been recognized for it by the Academy because its noticeable. Though the YouTuber notes great movie editing is often not easy to detect.

The 2019 Best Film Editing honor isnt the only Oscar winner that has been criticized this year. Best Picture going to Green Book has also perplexed moviegoers, along with First Man over Avengers: Infinity War for Best Visual Effects.

I prefer Kong Skull Island. I didn't mind how often they showed Godzilla, but the characters were dull to me, so every time they'd show him and go back to the characters it would kill the momentum for me.
