Moviegoers Are Walking Out Of Holmes And Watson

When you think about great comedic pairings, there's a solid chance that Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly come to mind thanks to their team-ups in Adam McKay's movies like Step Brothers. So seeing the actors reunite for a comedic take on Sherlock Holmes seemed like a safe bet for guaranteed laughs. Unfortunately, that does not appear to be the case with Holmes & Watson, because the movie is apparently so bad and unfunny that people are actually walking out. Take a look:

Wow, that is rough. Not only did this Twitter user think that the movie was bad enough to walk out of, but she actually doesn't want to see the duo of Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly work together again. Holmes & Watson turned her off the pairing entirely! That is definitely not what you want to hear.

Unfortunately, this does not appear to have been an isolated incident as many people have taken to Twitter to complain about Holmes & Watson, with many saying that they walked out it was so bad. Apparently even those who are against walking out of movies felt compelled to here. Check it out:

Yikes. Falling asleep, walking out, and being compared it to another horrible movie isn't a great look for Holmes & Watson. Most Twitter users posting about these reported walkouts aren't stuffy critics or those who find this type of comedy beneath them. Instead, they're fans of the actors and their previous work, simply not finding Holmes & Watson funny.

Many of the people claiming they walked out of the film are also claiming that they weren't alone and auditoriums playing Holmes & Watson experienced mass exoduses:

A lot of the walkouts Tweets are also accompanied by demands for money back, claims that this is the worst movie ever and comparisons to other near universally condemned films like Waterworld (which is unfairly maligned if you ask me). Claims that people fell asleep were also common:

Of those who couldn't make it through the film and walked out, it doesn't appear that many made it very far. There are plenty of tweets that said they walked out anywhere from 15 minutes in to 45 minutes in. Not many moviegoers seemed to make it more than halfway through if they chose to walk out. I suppose they felt they had given it a fair enough shake at that point.

Another person who saw the film went in the opposite direction of those who never want to see Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly together onscreen again, desiring a redemptive opportunity after this debacle.

Holmes & Watson may be one of those instances where audiences and critics are in agreement about a film. The critical reviews for the film are dismal, with it currently sitting at 5% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Personally I didn't find the trailer for Holmes & Watson to be funny, and I think many of us were expecting it to be bad. But for the film to not only be a bad movie, but to prompt walkouts from the general public is a feat indeed.

Captain Marvel Is Bringing Agent Coulson Back To The Big Screen

For years, Clark Gregg's Agent Phil Coulson served as glue that helped the Marvel Cinematic Universe stick together. He first made his debut in Jon Favreau's Iron Man, but appearances in Thor and Iron Man 2 helped create the cohesion that the franchise is now known for. Sadly, he has been off the big screen ever since 2012, as he was killed in Joss Whedon's The Avengers, but now we have confirmation that he will be making his big comeback in Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck's Captain Marvel.

Production is officially underway on the 2019 Marvel Studios blockbuster, and an official press release announcing the start of filming has confirmed the return of Clark Gregg's Phil Coulson. We know nothing about his role in the movie at this point, but we do know that his character's death probably won't play a factor (the plot is set in the early 1990s). That's not a lot, but it's still hard not to get excited about the development.

Of course, just because Phil Coulson hasn't been active on the big screen since 2012 doesn't mean he hasn't been active period. In fact, fans of the television series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. have seen the character grow a whole lot over the course of five seasons (he was actually the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. for a significant amount of time). Sadly we probably won't get to see any of that specific development because of the time period in which Captain Marvel is set, but we can all still cross our fingers and hope that we will eventually have a scene where Tony Stark is reunited with his old, not-dead friend. Something tells us that he will be a bit surprised to see him.

In addition to Phil Coulson, Captain Marvel is bringing together a whole lot of awesome characters together in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Brie Larson was confirmed as the titular hero, a.k.a. Carol Danvers, a few years back, and last summer it was confirmed that the movie will have a key role for Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury to play. It's also worth noting that Coulson won't be the only formerly-dead guy in the bunch, as both Lee Pace's Ronan The Accuser and Djimon Hounsou's Korath from Guardians of the Galaxy will also be in the mix. The rest of the cast (as unidentified characters) includes Ben Mendelsohn, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte and McKenna Grace.

As mentioned, Captain Marvel is now in production, preparing for its arrival in theaters on March 8, 2019. Move over Mark Ruffalo and Tom Holland, because if this is true it's the most telling MCU slip up yet. In an interview from the Captain Marvel set visit, Samuel L. Jackson raved about the newest Marvel hero, but might have said a bit too much. Speaking about how powerful Brie Larson's iteration of Carol Danvers is, the actor stated:

She's pretty much the strongest character -- in terms of someone with powers are able to do things -- in the Marvel universe. So, for Carol Danvers to be that person and for Brie to become that person, it's gonna be a dynamite thing. I mean, [the Avengers] are up against some really, really tough odds right now -- we saw throughout Infinity War -- so now we know that we need something that's as powerful as Thanos. And at some point, we'll find out how powerful she is and all the things that she's capable of. She's one of the few people in the Marvel universe that can time travel, so...

Wait, WHAT? Back up, ok, yes, we read that right... Samuel L. Jackson actually just said that Captain Marvel can time travel while speaking with Entertainment Tonight. And if you're unfamiliar with the superhero, that's not under her typical skill set. This could confirm the ever-popular theory that time travel will come into play in Avengers: Endgame, which Captain Marvel will appear in after making her solo debut.

Carol Danvers is certainly one of the most powerful superheroes in the MCU already. The comic book character has mutated with Kree DNA, giving her the ability to produce energy blasts from her hands and generate and control any form of radiation or gravity, along with having super strength and being able to fly. If she can time travel too, this changes the whole game.

Avengers: Infinity War ended with some dire circumstances, namely half of the universe being wiped out by Thanos' snap after he successfully nabbed all of the Infinity Stones. Since key heroes such as Spider-Man and Black Panther were victims too, many believe the Avengers: Endgame will utilize some sort of time travel plotline to reverse these circumstances.

Of course, if Captain Marvel possesses this ability, Nick Fury called exactly the right hero at the end of Infinity War before he too was turned to dust. However, if Carol Danvers can time travel, why didn't Fury utilize Captain Marvel before in the MCU? Maybe it's some sort of last resort Fury and Danvers agreed on and Fury made the judgement that this time around was when he needed to phone it in (or rather, page it in).

It certainly would make a lot of sense as to why Captain Marvel is debuting right before Avengers: Endgame and why her story will be rooted in the past. But did that really just happen? Did Samuel L. Jackson slip up and ruin a potential plot line? We'll know for sure when Captain Marvel comes out on March 8.

Potential spoilers ahead for Ant-Man and the Wasp!!

If there's one thing that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is known for, its secrecy. Marvel Studios does everything it can to keep its films' contents under wraps, allowing for moments of surprise and joy in the theater. Unfortunately, some of the starring cast members can make this a difficult task, as interviews and social media activity can unwittingly ruin film's contents. While Mark Ruffalo and Tom Holland are the MCU's worst offenders, Ant-Man and The Wasp actress Evangeline Lilly may have revealed a potential villain of the upcoming sequel. While encouraging her followers to vote in the primaries happening across the country, Lilly seems to indicate that Goliath will be the big villain of the second Ant-Man movie.

For those of you who are confused - we had to win the senate before we could tackle the house. We DID win the senate and that was INCREDIBLE, now let's do it all over again. That was Goliath, now we're facing Thanos. Don't let them censor and throttle us. Let's get loud. Let's win again.

While there could be a David vs. Goliath reference happening here, it certainly does seem like Evangeline Lilly is talking about the two villains she'll be facing in the MCU. Ant-Man and The Wasp will presumably feature Goliath as a villain, before Hope eventually crosses over and helps battle Thanos in Avengers 4.

Evangeline Lilly's Instagram post is sure to turn a few heads, especially as we get closer to Ant-Man and The Wasp's highly anticipated release. From the trailers and first footage, it seems like the duo of pint-sized heroes would be mostly battling Hannah John-Kamen's Ghost throughout the course of the movie. But the conflict can't be that simple, so fans were expecting another villainous character to pop up, be it Michelle Pfeiffer's Janet Van Dyne or Laurence Fisburne's Bill Foster. Now the latter seems more likely.

Bill Foster pops up briefly in the trailer for Ant-Man and The Wasp, and seems to be a potential ally for Scott and Hope on their journey. He and Scott compare "sizes," meaning how large they've managed to grow through the use of the franchise's signature tech. Not it appears that the upcoming sequel may pull a fast one, and bring Goliath to the silver screen for the first time. Project G.O.L.I.A.T.H. was already mentioned by name, so fans were hoping the character would appear sometime during the film's runtime. Now we just have to wait and see.

After two years of waiting, Deadpool 2 has finally arrived in theaters. The superheroic sequel features Wade Wilson in yet another fourth wall breaking adventure, and it greatly expanded the scope of the franchise. Deadpool 2 was chock full of shocking moments, although there was none quite as brutal as Vanessa's death in the film's first act. It was shocking and brutal, and revealed that the sequel was going to have some very real stakes. But the post-credits scene saw Deadpool going back in time for a few reasons, the first of which is saving Vanessa's life. So is she really alive, or was this just a joke? Writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick recently answered just this, saying:

Yes, the after credit scene is CANON! Don't expect that device to stick around beyond this movie, though!

It looks like Deadpool 2's post-credits scene wasn't just a final gag for the audience. Wade actually traveled through time, and saved Vanessa from being killed on their anniversary. And just like that, one of the franchise's leading characters is reborn.

This definitive answer comes from Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick's recent Reddit AMA. The writers fielded a variety of questions about Deadpool 2, including some more nit picky ones related to the franchise's official canon. While Vanessa's death seemed legitimate and possibly an opening for Zazie Beetz' Domino to begin a romantic plot line with the protagonist, we should probably expect Morena Baccarin to reprise her role in the X-Force movie.

Vanessa's resurrection means that almost all of the character deaths in Deadpool don't really matter. The title character seemingly died in the film's conclusion, ready to reunite with his true love in the afterlife. But Vanessa told him it wasn't the right time, and he eventually returned to the world of the living. Now it seems she was right, as their true reunion happened via Wade traveling back in time to save her life. The couple can presumably keep living their happy life, and start having kids.

Aside from Vanessa and Wade's returns from the dead, there is one more character who got out alive: X-Force member Peter. Most of the team perishes after jumping from a helicopter, and Peter was one of the members who died gruesomely in front of our eyes. During the post-credits scene, Wade is also sure to save him, as the poor guy probably shouldn't have been involved in the first place. As for the rest of the OG X-Force? They're probably dead for good.
