Incredibles 2 Has Screened, Heres What People Think
Sequels that take a long time to reach theaters can be hit or miss. Momentum generated by the original film (or films) could dissolve. The audience who was around to support the original film might have moved on to other interests. So there was always a risk for Pixar Animation Studios blowing 14 years of dust off of The Incredibles for an animated sequel, but by the early reaction to Incredibles 2, the gamble paid off. The movie screened for critics last night, and the social embargo was lifted, allowing our own Eric Eisenberg to Tweet:
That is high praise! In a summer season that already has brought audiences Avengers: Infinity War and Deadpool 2, Eric calling Brad Bird's Incredibles 2 "one of the best titles of the summer" definitely gets us excited. Speaking of Brad Bird, he's praised by Silas Lesnick, who tweets:
Erik Davis over at Fandango echoes Eric Eisenberg's sentiment by calling this his favorite movie of the season:

While the praise was nearly universal, Peter Sciretta at SlashFilm liked but didn't love the sequel, stating:
Even in his Tweet, he praised the work of composer Michael Giacchino, as many also did. At the very least, we are eager to hear the score for this new sequel.
Incredibles 2 picks up right where the original film left off, with the Parr family taking on The Underminer (John Ratzenberger) and then embarking on a quest to bring Supers back into the legal limelight. As part of that mission, Elastigirl (Holly Hunter) teams up with the mysterious Deavors, while Bob (Craig T. Nelson) stays home and takes care of the family.

Pixar did a fantastic job taking the qualities of the Parr family from the first film and building upon that in this film.

It looks like the rumors swirling around over the past couple of days regarding a potential test screening of Zombieland 2 may have dramatically over exaggerated.
